Based in Chicago, Illinois, Nosta Festival is a three day event featuring singing acts popular through the early to late 2000s with present performing artists. It’s original style is homage to the design era of frutiger metro with 2000s esque vector flourish patterns, halftone patterns, high contrast color palette.

Process
Due to the reemergence of 2000s era nostalgia, I wanted to pay homage to the most popular aesthetic in design at the time, Frutiger Metro. To play off this, I did research into how the decorative aesthetic was created and incorporated flat, but also maximalist designs with exclusive playful colors. As well as features like splats, vector blooms, musical motifs like the circle patterns that played off as speakers. Among the influence of the aesthetic, I wanted to center the festival among popular central 2000s acts that could take anyone back to the era like Imogen Heap, Natasha Bendingfield, Soulja Boy and more. Including modern day acts that incorporated the said aesthetic in their music.
