Overview

Overview

Tears Of Venus is a luxury floral perfume brand inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s painting, The Birth Of Venus. The brand concept was centered from aspects of the painting, but also through its feeling creating a natural, soothing elegance that leaves a renewing feeling to anyone who smells and sees it.

Inspiration

Inspiration

The focal inspiration for the product was to create a luxury branded product that pertained elements of awakening, renewal, and sensation of soothing to ascertain to a viewer. This concept formed into the initial conceptual idea of the feeling of looking at a painting at a museum. Which developed my thoughts of creating a branded perfume bottle based off the most painting that evoked said sensations, The Birth Of Venus by Sandro Botticelli.
Most of the inspiration for the perfume bottle came directly from elements of the painting itself including the central story of the painting with the goddess of love emerging from the sea onto land by the wind god, Zephyrus. As well as being covered by fabric by the Hora of Spring. Whilst Venus stands in place inside her sea shell. Other focal points outside the painting included influences of established decorative perfume bottles that were centered on ornamental designs for both packaging and branding of the design. Forming my conceps for the brand of Tears Of Venus.

Sketches

Sketches

Conceptual sketches through inspiration of The birth of venus painting led my thoughts to focus mostly on the shell of Venus rather than focusing on the shape of goddess herself. To differentiate from the painting, I played with different ideas of the shell forming a thought to elongate and create the final product. Elements of the seafoam that developed from Venus emergence was also played around with as a shell for the perfume to sit on. Other touches like a pearl as a perfume topper to represent Venus as a pearl inside the shell additionally the lady herself on the front or back of the bottle.

Final Design

Final Design

Created and Designed in Blender, the final outcome of the render was to add narrative call back to the painting including falling myrtle flowers that represent Venus. The bottle also stands onto the sea which she emerges from with cracks representing the age of the paint from the painting.

Packaging

Packaging

The packaging continues the inspiration of the painting with the center front being a drawing of Venus on top of her shell with sea waves behind her. Additionally, an arch around her to represent Triumphal arches that are popular amongst Roman architecture which represents the goddess of love’s mythology. The perfume notes ingredients were also taken into account with the top notes being lemon, middle being of Sea Water, Myrtle, and Red Roses, and the base being vanilla. All to add to the sensation of soothing and renewal.

3D Animation

The overall animation for The product itself was just the story of The Birth of Venus retold. With the bottle blowing with the wind, whilst being covered onto fabric emerging onto land.
